Edel Monteiro

Head - Programs at India Climate Collaborative

Edel Monteiro has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. In 2020, they worked as a Program Lead at The India Climate Collaborative. Prior to that, from 2018 to 2020, they held the position of Project Officer at IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative. From 2015 to 2017, they served as a Senior Consultant - Sustainability & Climate Change at VNV Advisory Services LLP. In 2014, they worked as an Encyclopaedia Developer at UCL. From 2010 to 2013, they held the role of Senior Researcher - Sustainability & Climate Change at the Centre for Environment Research and Education (CERE), where they were responsible for various activities such as designing and executing environmental employee engagement programs, conducting carbon footprint mapping, and assisting in the development of CERE's carbon footprint dashboard software. In 2012 and 2013, they worked as a Program Facilitator at St. Xavier's College, India/Wilfrid Laurier University - YLEC, where they instructed a course on Global Climate Change and Environmental Injustice and coordinated an E-waste Collection drive. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Program Assistant - Fellowship Program at Ashoka: Innovators for the public, where they conducted research, assisted with social investment projects, and provided support to fellows. In 2007, they briefly worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Procurement Department at Taj Wellington Mews, and in 2005 and 2006, they served as an English Tutor for underprivileged women at YWCA, where they designed curriculum and created training modules for vocational use.

Edel Monteiro pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology - Psychology (Hons) from St. Xavier's College, a college they attended from 2003 to 2009. In order to further enhance their knowledge, Edel pursued a Master's degree in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL. Edel attended UCL from 2013 to 2014 to acquire a Master of Science (MSc) in this field.
