Indigenous Fishers First works for Indigenous people to get the most from their resources as well as negotiating pathways to reclaiming lost or stolen places and fishing access. Our understanding of policies and government programming can help communities access funding to achieve their goals. The intention is to work with Indigenous communities and individuals to develop long term successful programs and management teams that retain the cultural identity so important for their success.
Our journey has been one of partnership and respect, always prioritizing the unique needs and aspirations of each community we serve. We understand the challenges of operating in rural, remote, and coastal areas. It is this understanding that fuels our evolution.
