Jim Newman has a strong background in engineering and manufacturing with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Jim started their career at Analog Devices as an Engineering Manager, where they managed a team responsible for production, equipment, and new product development. Jim then joined Active Control eXperts as Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing Operations, overseeing the production of piezoelectric actuators and vibration control systems. After that, they worked at Axsun Technologies as the Executive VP of Manufacturing and Product Engineering, where they helped develop high reliability opto-electronic instrumentation products. Jim later joined Lilliputian Systems as Vice President of Manufacturing, contributing to the development of a breakthrough battery replacement solution. Jim also served as an Advisory Board Member at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), focusing on building innovative capacity among SMEs. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Manufacturing, Logistics and Support at Indigo Technologies.
Jim Newman attended Dartmouth College, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering. Jim later pursued further education at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree specializing in Operations and Management of Technology Innovation.
