Sam Peters

Sam Peters is a seasoned data scientist currently employed as a Senior Data Scientist on the Soil Carbon Science team at Indigo Agriculture, focusing on the emission effect sizes related to regenerative practices within the carbon crediting program. Prior to this role, Sam served as a Doctoral Research Assistant at Emory University, where a three-part dissertation on the climate and human health impacts of emerging agricultural techniques was successfully defended. This position involved significant community-based research, including an assessment of heavy metal soil contamination leading to an EPA cleanup initiative. Experience includes roles as a Borlaug Fellow at Embrapa, contributing to agricultural research, and various positions in journalism and environmental services, showcasing a diverse skill set in technical writing, data analysis, and environmental health. Sam holds a PhD in Environmental Health from Emory University and a BA in Chemistry from St. Olaf College.
