Ram Kumar

Ram Kumar has had a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Ram started as a Graduate Engineer at Industrial Development Services in 1971 before becoming a Project Engineer at Rishab Ispat Ltd in 1973. Ram then returned to Industrial Development Services as a Consultant in 1979, where they worked on various market surveys and Techno Economic Feasibility Reports. In 1984, they joined Swadeshi Alloy Ltd as an Executive Director, overseeing the steel foundry project and managing tasks such as project reports, loan applications, and equipment procurement. In 1988, they took on the role of Senior Consultant/Joint Managing Director at Industrial Development Services, where they worked until 2000 when they became the Managing Director. Alongside their professional career, Ram Kumar has also been actively involved in the IIT Kanpur Alumni Association as the Honorary Secretary since 1985. Additionally, during their time at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, they served as a representative and held leadership positions in student organizations.

Ram Kumar completed their primary and secondary schooling at Happy School from 1957 to 1966. Following this, they attended the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur from 1966 to 1971, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Metallurgical Engineering.
