Michael Oder Sr. has extensive experience in fire safety and marine firefighting, currently serving as Deputy Chief of the Marine Firefighting Division at Industrial Emergency Services, LLC since August 2018. In this role, Michael Oder Sr. ensures the operational readiness of marine firefighting equipment nationwide and commands responses to marine fires both domestically and internationally. Additionally, since June 2020, Michael Oder Sr. has been a Fire Inspector for the City of South Houston. Michael Oder Sr. previously worked as an Adjunct Instructor for the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service from February 2018 to May 2023, and served as Director of Operations at M&M Protection from February 2016 to January 2018, overseeing operations related to oil and hazardous materials spills. Michael Oder Sr. also has a long tenure with the Port of Houston Fire Department, where from April 1980 to March 2016, responsibilities included overseeing three fire stations and acting as Incident Commander for a range of emergency responses.
