Peter Gu

Process Control Engineer

Peter Gu has extensive experience in process engineering and optimization within the chemical and energy sectors. Since December 2018, Peter has held positions as a Process Control Engineer and Asset Engineer at INEOS. Prior to this, Peter worked as an Optimization Engineer at Flint Hills Resources from June 2017 to 2018, and as a Process Engineer at Shell from February 2014 to June 2017, focusing on hydroprocessing. Earlier career roles include Manufacturing Engineer at Dowcorning from July 2010 to February 2014, and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where responsibilities included teaching mass and energy balances and thermodynamics from January 2008 to May 2010. Peter also gained practical experience as an Intern Engineer at Archer Daniels Midland in 2009, utilizing Aspen Plus modeling for financial viability assessments of process investments. Peter holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, completed in 2010, and attended the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy from 2003 to 2006.
