Alan Titley

Alan Titley is an Emeritus Professor of Modern Irish at University College Cork, where they have been a significant figure in Irish studies since their tenure began in 1974. A renowned author and scholar, Titley has published a range of works, including fiction, drama, and academic research, with notable titles like "An Bhean Feasa" and a translation of Mairtin O Cadhain's "Cre na Cille." They were elected as a member of the Royal Irish Academy in 2012 and continue to contribute to literature and academia, recently presenting at the Kerala Literature Festival. In addition to their writing, Titley has also worked as a columnist for The Irish Times and has created films.
