Chris Williams

Head of College

Chris Williams has an extensive academic background, beginning with a role as a Second Lieutenant in the Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment from October 1981 to July 1982. Following this, Chris served as a Professor of Modern and Contemporary Wales at the University of Glamorgan from May 2001 to December 2004, also co-directing the Centre for Border Studies. From January 2005 to July 2013, Chris held the position of Professor of Welsh History at Swansea University while directing the Research Institute for Arts and Humanities from 2010 to 2013. Chris then contributed to Cardiff University as a Professor of History and Head of the School of History, Archaeology and Religion from August 2013 to August 2017. Currently, Chris is the Head of College at University College Cork since September 2017.
