Jerry D Murphy

Jerry D. Murphy is the Chair and Professor of Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering at University College Cork, where they also serve as the Director of the Energy Engineering Degree and lead research in Bioenergy and Biofuels. They have extensive experience in academia, having lectured at Cork Institute of Technology from 1995 to 2006 and contributed to various roles since 2006 at University College Cork. In addition to their professorial duties, Jerry is the Director of the SFI MaREI Centre and the Vice Director at the Environmental Research Institute, both positions held since 2015. They have also led initiatives at the International Energy Agency focusing on biogas energy. Jerry earned their BE, MEngSc, and PhD in Engineering from University College Cork between 1985 and 1989.
