John Cooke is a National Clinical Lead in the National Doctors Training and Planning (NDTP) and a Consultant Physician specializing in Geriatric and Stroke Medicine at University Hospital Waterford. With over a decade of experience in the Health Service Executive, they focus on dementia, syncope, and advance medical education. John holds a PhD and supervises MD and PhD students while leading projects aimed at enhancing care for older adults. Since joining NDTP in 2018, they have developed initiatives for postgraduate medical education and have held various leadership roles, including Director for Postgraduate Medical Education & Training for the South/South West Hospital Group.
