John McLaughlin

Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer in Architectural Design

John McLaughlin is a practicing architect and urban designer who serves as an Associate Professor of Architectural Design at University College Cork. With a creative practice that emphasizes sustainable materials, John has spearheaded various urban projects in Cork, Killarney, Kilkenny, and Sligo, along with notable building projects like a museum in Kinsale and exhibition spaces for the National Archives of Ireland. John previously worked with Group 91 architects on the regeneration of Dublin's Liberties area and held significant roles in Dublin's Docklands Authority. As a published author and curator for Ireland's Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, John continues to contribute to both academic and professional discourses in architecture. Currently, John is also a board member of the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).
