Philip O'Reilly is a Professor of Financial Technologies and Information Systems at Cork University Business School, University College Cork (UCC), where they have been teaching since 2018. They are the Science Foundation Ireland's approved Principal Investigator of FINTECHNEXT, a significant research initiative in collaboration with Fexco. O'Reilly has been conferred the title of Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales Business School and is recognized for their contributions to the field of information systems, including receiving the Stafford Beer Medal in 2011 for outstanding contributions to the philosophy, theory, and practice of Information Systems. Their research has been published in leading journals and has received considerable funding, securing €4 million since 2016 to support ongoing projects.
