Michael Haggmark

Physicist/analytical Scientist at Inficon

Michael Haggmark is a physicist and analytical scientist currently developing new sensor technologies at INFICON since December 2021. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral position at UC Santa Barbara from August 2015 to November 2021, where work in Mike Gordon's lab focused on designing experiments for methane pyrolysis in molten metals, funded by the DOE's ARPA-E program. As a graduate student researcher in Mattanjah de Vries's lab, studies on the intrinsic photo-relaxation mechanisms of cold, isolated molecules were conducted using laser desorption jet cooling mass spectrometry. Earlier research experience includes method development for quantitative analysis at Sonoma State University under Professor Mark J. Perri and a summer research position at the University of Rochester funded by the National Science Foundation. Michael Haggmark earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara in 2020 and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Sonoma State University in 2015.
