Priyan Chandrapala

Priyan Chandrapala has a diverse work experience spanning over 16 years. Priyan is currently employed as a Data Engineer at Infinite Lambda since February 2020. Previously, they founded Occulta Insights in January 2020, where they held the role of Founder for a brief period.

Before that, Priyan worked at Accenture for almost a decade, from May 2010 to July 2019. Priyan served as a Software Development Specialist during this time. Priyan also worked as a Spark/Big Data developer at UBS Finance IT from September 2018 to June 2019 on a contract through Accenture. Additionally, Priyan had a contract role as a Java/Oracle PL SQL Developer at UBS Investment Bank from an unknown start date to June 2018, also through Accenture.

Prior to joining Accenture, they worked at JPMorgan Chase as a Java Developer from September 2010 to March 2012, also on a contract through Accenture. Priyan began their career at Virtusa as a Software Engineer in November 2004 and worked there until December 2007.

Overall, Priyan has demonstrated expertise in software development and data engineering through their various roles in renowned organizations such as Infinite Lambda, Occulta Insights, Accenture, UBS, JPMorgan Chase, and Virtusa.

Priyan Chandrapala completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from the University of Colombo, attending from 2001 to 2004. Later, from 2008 to 2009, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science at the University of Leicester.

In addition to their formal education, Priyan obtained several certifications and participated in training programs. Priyan completed various Coursera Course Certificates, including Introduction to Probability and Data, Exploratory Data Analysis, Statistical Inference, Reproducible Research, Regression Models, Practical Machine Learning, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, Introduction to Big Data (2015), and The Data Scientist's Toolbox. Priyan obtained these certificates between 2016 and 2017.

Priyan also received certifications from specific institutions. Priyan became an Oracle Database SQL certified expert in June 2014. Moreover, they obtained multiple certifications from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), including Functional Programming Principles in Scala, Functional Program Design in Scala, Parallel programming, Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark, and Functional Programming in Scala Capstone, achieved between March and November 2017.

Furthermore, Priyan acquired certifications related to their work with Databricks. Priyan became a Databricks certified Spark developer for Scala in July 2018 and received Partner Training - Sales Ready certifications from Databricks in August 2020.
