Adrian Thurston has a long work experience in the tech industry. Adrian started in 1999 as a Software Developer Co-op at Corel Corporation. In 2001, they moved to OpenText as a Software Developer Co-op. From 2009 to 2014, they worked at eSentire Inc. as a Senior Research Developer, where they designed and implemented the company's proprietary network content inspection system, made contributions to the in-kernel datapath, development infrastructure, and deployment tools. From 2014 to 2020, they were the Founder and Chief Scientist at Colm Networks Inc. Currently, they are a Senior Software Engineer at InfluxData.
Adrian Thurston obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science, Honours (Co-op) from the University of Waterloo between 1998 and 2003. Adrian then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Technology Lab from Queen's University between 2003 and 2004. Finally, Adrian completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Software Technology Lab from Queen's University between 2005 and 2008.
