Caleb Cortez has extensive work experience, beginning in 2005 with West Telemarketing as a Position Team Lead, where they supervised employees and answered questions regarding company policy, answered inbound sales calls and assisted customers with catalog orders, and addressed customer inquiries and concerns via email. In 2008, they worked at Airtron Heating and Air Conditioning as a Ticketline Administrator and File Clerk, where they entered completed work-order details into a centralized company database, maintained contents of customer files, and communicated with the company call center. In 2010, they worked at Wallace Cook Agency as an Insurance Agent, where they assisted individuals with applications for home, auto, and property insurance coverage, reviewed customers' needs, and provided information on various providers. In 2014, they worked at Alamo Colleges as a Computer Lab Assistant, where they assisted onsite technicians with completing tickets regarding updating, re-imaging, network troubleshooting, replacing hardware, software installation, and documented all work with Footprints ticketing system. Finally, in 2021 they began working at InfluxData as a Technical Support Engineer.

Caleb Cortez obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature, General from The University of Texas at San Antonio between 2002 and 2006. In 2012 and 2014, they earned an Associate's Degree in Information Security & Assurance from St Philip's College. In 2015, they completed a course in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL) from Open Cloud Academy (Rackspace). Additionally, they hold certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Red Hat, CompTIA, and the National Security Agency, including AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (2020), RHCSA (2018), Security+ (2014), and CNSS (NSTISSI 4011).
