Dan Dobbs

Dan Dobbs has had a long and varied career in the IT industry, beginning in 1992 as a Mainframe Operations Manager at Zones. In 1999, they became an Operations Lead at ATL - Philips, where they worked as a junior administrator for Windows, Novell, and HP-UX servers, as well as a Tivoli backup administrator. In 2001, they moved to Mutual Materials as a Senior Unix System Administrator, leading the migration from legacy HP9000 (HP-UX) to HP x86 servers using Red Hat Linux. From 2007 to 2014, they were a System Administrator at Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro), leading an effort to leverage virtualization for their QA, Build, and Deployment teams. Finally, from 2014 to 2018, they were a Technical Operations Engineer III at VMware, where they were responsible for support and maintenance of R&D production and test infrastructure. In 2018, they joined InfluxData as a Support Team Manager (EMEA and Americas - East) for InfluxDB, and later as a Senior Support Engineer.

Dan Dobbs obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from Washington State University between 1987 and 1991. Dan went on to obtain the ITIL Foundation Certificate from AXELOS Global Best Practice in January 2015, the VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization from VMware in October 2013, and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF) from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in September 2018.
