Joe Blount

Joe Blount has worked in the software engineering field since 2001. Joe began their career at Pirus Networks as a Software Engineer, then moved on to Sun Microsystems as a Member of Technical Staff. In 2010, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Oracle and a Staff Software Engineer at LSI, an Avago Technologies Company. From 2011 to 2020, Joe was a Senior Software Engineer at NetApp. At NetApp, they were one of the architects and implementers of an LSM data indirection layer converting random host writes to sequential write streams. Joe also created strategies to use extremely low endurance archive drives, for which they were the sole inventor on a granted patent. Joe also mentored junior engineers and was a member of the E-Series Coding Standards Committee.

Joe Blount received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Wichita State University and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the same university. Joe also attended Florida College.
