Phil B. has a long and varied work experience. Phil started in 2008 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Dartmouth College. In 2010, they took a job as a Data Analyst/Atmospheric Physicist at the Leibniz-Institute of Atmospheric Physics. In 2011, they founded PJB Space Solutions and served as an Engineer Consultant, designing mission critical FPGA hardware and VHDL for geophysical sounding rockets onsite at NASA's Wallops launch facility. In 2012, they were a Mirzayan Science and Technology Fellow at The National Academies, researching popular perception of NASA's human spaceflight program. Phil also worked as a Lead Device Engineer at Alarm.com in 2012. In 2015, they took a job as a Software Engineer at RedOwl Analytics, where they implemented risk scoring for their enterprise analytics software platform. In 2017, they became a Software Engineering Manager and Software Engineer at Forcepoint, where they served as a tech leader and architect for a transactional entity resolution (ER) system and extended the ER system to use kafka as a distributed cache for entity information. Phil is currently a Senior Software Engineer at InfluxData.
Phil B. attended Dartmouth College from 2004-2008, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics and Engineering. Phil then returned to Dartmouth College from 2008-2010, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Space Engineering and Plasma Physics.
