Stuart Carnie has a long history of work experience in the software and technology industry. Starting in 1985 as a Custom Solutions Consultant for Blue Ribbon Meat Products, Pty Ltd., they were the principal architect of an import, maintenance and reporting solution for analysing export quality beef production data. From 1995 to 1998, they worked as a Systems Administrator and Software Engineer for Blue Ribbon Meat Products, as well as a Senior Professional Services Consultant for EXE Technologies. From 1999 to 2005, they worked at Sage Software in various roles, including Principal Software Architect, Global CRM Architecture, Principal Software Architect - SalesLogix, Development Manager, Senior Software Developer, Technical Manager, Professional Services Group, and Senior Professional Services Consultant. From 2005 to 2009, they were the Founder and CEO of The Software Specialist. From 2009 to 2012, they were the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Manomio LLC. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have been a Senior Developer, Platform Engineering at InfluxData.
Stuart Carnie obtained a Bachelor of Applied Computing from the University of Tasmania in 1994, where they studied Information Technology and Physics: Electronics. Stuart also obtained an Applied Computing degree from the University of Tasmania during the same time period, where they studied Computer Science. In August 2020, they obtained a Triplebyte Certified Generalist Software Engineer certification from Triplebyte.
