Chuck Martin has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Chuck is currently the Editorial Director for AI & IoT at Informa Tech since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Net Future Institute as the CEO and Founder since January 2000, where they led a business advisory service focused on strategies and marketing tactics for the Internet of Things (IoT) and total mobility. Chuck also served as a Keynote Speaker, Bestselling Author, and Podcast Host during their tenure at Net Future Institute. From 2009 to 2021, Chuck worked at Mediapost, where they held various roles, including Editor, Columnist, and Conference Programmer for AI & IoT Daily and mCommerce Daily. Chuck was also the Director of the Center for Media Research at Mediapost. Before that, Chuck was the Vice President of Publishing and Advertising in the Media & Entertainment Industry at IBM from 1995 to 1996. Chuck also served as the Founding Publisher of Interactive Age from 1994 to 1995 and the Associate Publisher of Information Week from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they held executive positions at Medical Tribune Inc., Independent Consulting, High Technology Business Magazine, and Video Digest Magazine. Throughout their career, Chuck has been involved in various aspects of publishing, media, and technology, with a focus on IoT, AI, mobile, and advertising.
Chuck Martin obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Northeastern University. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications including a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain, 100-Ton Masters, with a Commercial Towing Endorsement from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in February 2023, and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) from the same department in June 2017.
