Ron Schmelzer

Ron Schmelzer is the Global Head, Director of AI Partnerships & Outreach, and General Manager of PMI Cognilytica at the Project Management Institute, a role assumed following the acquisition of Cognilytica in September 2024. With extensive experience in artificial intelligence, Ron also contributes as a writer for Forbes and TechTarget's SearchEnterpriseAI, focusing on AI, Machine Learning, and Cognitive Technologies. Additionally, Ron plays a significant role in educational and community initiatives as a member of the MIT Admissions Educational Council and as Executive Director of GovFuture, an innovative community for government innovators. As a founding partner of A-Level Capital and a judge for the SXSW Interactive Awards, Ron has a track record of involvement in various ventures and initiatives. Academic credentials include a BS in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University - Carey Business School.
