Simon Dyson

Simon Dyson is an experienced music industry professional currently serving as Practice Leader for Music at Omdia since February 2020. Dyson has held a longstanding role as Editor for Music & Copyright at Informa Telecoms and Media since January 2009, overseeing a fortnightly research service that provides global insights into copyright and legal issues within the music sector. Prior to these roles, Dyson served as Practice Leader for Music at Ovum from July 2014 to February 2020 and as Senior Analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media from 2000 to 2008, contributing to various music research reports for major industry players. Dyson began a career in music analysis at Market Tracking International from July 1998 to November 2000. Dyson holds a BSc in Media & Society from South Bank University, earned between 1995 and 1998, and completed education at Idsall from 1977 to 1984.
