Informing Change is an Oakland, California-based strategic learning and consulting team. For nearly 30 years, our team has been built on a foundation of diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. That diversity is our strength. What unites all of us is a core belief that when those most impacted by a challenge come together to inform strategy, they build the power to bring transformative change to their communities.

The pursuit of our company values—curiosity, integrity, compassion, and social justice — guides everything we do. We embrace the wide range of communities, clients, foci, and contexts in which we work, bringing our core principles and practices to each project to inform and affirm the power of those we work with. Our company values are put into practice by centering equity and supporting those working to end racism and intersectional oppressions, discriminatory practices and policies, and inequitable systems.

At Informing Change, we believe that change is:

•	Informed By Learning: We believe learning is essential to the growth and development needed to achieve well-being for all. Learning is about insight, which comes from rearranging and reconsidering what we know in light of new information and perspectives. Vitally, it is also about developing strategies to apply that insight.

•	Rooted in Power: Through this lens, we understand that power dynamics, inequity, and histories of discrimination may impact what counts as credible evidence or who counts as informed enough to have a voice in decision-making. We acknowledge and actively challenge historically prevalent biases and approach our projects using equitable evaluation and culturally responsive frameworks.

•	Attentive to Systems: We operate with the conviction that meaningful and lasting change requires a focus on the systems and contexts within which people navigate their lives. We believe all communities and individuals should have a voice in defining their own outcomes.
