Brent Messer

Brent Messer is an experienced executive counselor at Info-Tech Research Group, providing leadership counseling, consulting, and mentoring to CIOs and CTOs since February 2022. Previously, Brent hosted and produced the Civic Sparks podcast, focusing on civic discussions, from August 2021 to November 2023. Brent served as the Chief Information Officer for the City of Chattanooga from February 2014 to February 2022 and held the role of Applications Development Manager - Deputy Director of Information Technology for the City of Greenville, NC from March 2012 to February 2014. Additional experience includes positions at Shands At the University of Florida, Alachua County, and Cortac Systems, with a strong background in software development and project management. Brent holds a Master of Science in Information Systems & Health Informatics from Dakota State University and has completed graduate studies at various institutions, including the University of Florida and UC Berkeley.
