James Alexander has a diverse work experience spanning several high-level executive roles in various companies. James began their career in 1989 at Microsoft as a Regional Sales and Partner Manager. James then co-owned and served as President of CTI Solutions Group, where they were responsible for sales, marketing, and services. During their tenure, they expanded the company's services into retail, education, healthcare, software development, and telephony, and developed one of the earliest MSP practices.

In 2000, James joined Metafore Corporation as a Senior Vice President before moving to IDC in 2002, where they served as Group Vice President. James joined Smartest IT in 2009 as the Chief Enthusiasm Officer, where they focused on creating communities and connecting technology vendors with end-user organizations.

From 2010 to 2013, James worked at HAI Group as an Advisor to the CEO, specializing in housing software solutions. James then held multiple roles at Info-Tech Research Group, including Senior Vice President of Vendor Division & Events, Senior Vice President & GM at McLean & Co HR Research and Advisory Services, and Senior Vice President of CIO Research and Executive Services. In these roles, they focused on client acquisition and growth, establishing executive services divisions, and advising clients on product and partner strategies.

James Alexander has completed the Oxford Artificial Intelligence Programme at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford in 2020. James has also pursued studies in the field of Oxford Blockchain Strategy at the same institution. Additionally, they have participated in the Value Selling Managers Program at ValueSelling Associates. James has also attended the Program on Negotiation at Harvard University.
