ESCO Market Lead at Infratec

Chris Service has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Chris currently holds the role of ESCO Market Lead at Infratec, where they have been employed since December 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Business Development Manager - Pacific at Infratec from November 2018. In 2021, Chris also served as an Executive Committee Member of the New Zealand Tonga Business Council.

Before joining Infratec, Chris worked at Sungevity International from June 2016 to October 2018 as a Business Development Manager. In this role, they led Sungevity's international expansion program, focusing on identifying and entering new residential PV markets globally. Chris conducted extensive market research and analysis, managed pilot projects, and nurtured promising markets to prepare for market entry.

From 2012 to 2016, Chris worked at FRES (Foundation Rural Energy Services) as a Business Developer. Chris'sresponsibilities included developing rural electrification projects and decentralised electricity service companies in off-grid regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. Chris successfully developed and implemented solar PV projects, conducted market research, and secured financing for these projects.

Prior to their role at FRES, Chris also worked as a Researcher at the same organization, where they conducted market research on business models in the off-grid energy sector and analyzed technical and economic aspects of the company's assets.

Chris began their career as an independent contractor at earthmine inc, where they worked as a Street-level Data Capture Technician. Chris was responsible for geospatial mapping and street-level imagery programs in South-West France.

Chris also has experience as an Environmental Officer - Hydrology and Air Quality Technician at Environment Waikato, where they managed environmental monitoring networks in the Coromandel and King Country catchments.

Chris Service started their professional journey as a Research Assistant at the University of Otago, where they conducted research on the impact of introduced trout on freshwater lake ecology in Fiordland and the impact of tourism on Yellow-Eyed Penguin colonies in Dunedin.

Chris Service attended Massey University from 2011 to 2012, where they obtained their Postgraduate Diploma in Technology with a specialization in Energy Management. Prior to that, from 2002 to 2005, they attended the University of Otago and earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Management. In addition to their formal education, Chris has also obtained additional certifications. In 2013, they received a Social Returns on Investment Certificate from Social Evaluator. It is worth noting that Chris also holds an Advanced Open Water certification from PADI, although the specific details of when and where they obtained this certification are not available.
