Andreas Charka

Andreas Charka is an experienced professional in sanctions risk management, currently serving as the Director of Sanctions Risk & Oversight at ING since August 2021, where efforts include leading the redesign of the Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis (SIRA) and implementing controls in response to recent sanctions related to the Russia/Ukraine conflict. Prior to this role, Andreas worked at HSBC from September 2016 to August 2021 as the Head of Sanctions Risk Assessment & Reporting, enhancing the global sanctions control framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Earlier experience includes serving as EWRA Sanctions Manager at HSBC and as an Associate at Promontory Financial Group, where support was provided for AML and sanctions compliance challenges. Additional roles in sales and marketing at ARISTO Developers and Parador Properties, coupled with military service in the Cyprus Army, contribute to a diverse professional background.
