Carsten Brzeski

Global Head of Macro Research and Chief Economist Eurozone

Carsten Brzeski is the Global Head of Macro Research and Chief Eurozone Economist at ING, as well as the Chief Economist for ING Germany. With a broad international background in economics and finance, Carsten's career began in the public sector, holding positions at the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands and the European Commission. Since joining ING in 2008, they have focused on economic analysis and forecasting within the EU, Eurozone, and Germany, often appearing in various media to discuss macroeconomic developments. Carsten has also served as a member of the Commission for European Integration at the Advisory Council on International Affairs since 2019. Their academic background includes degrees in Economics from Harvard University and Business Administration from Northeastern University.
