Georgios Pierris

Georgios Pierris, PhD, currently serves as the Director of ING Financial Markets, focusing on Algorithmic Trading Governance & Control. They have held various roles, including a Quantitative Researcher at ING and a Consultant in Advanced Analytics at Deloitte Nederland, where they designed and implemented advanced analytics solutions. Georgios was also a Researcher and PhD student at the University of South Wales, working on machine learning for humanoid robot control. Additionally, they have been involved in academic roles, including as a Coach in Business Information Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. Georgios earned their PhD in Machine Learning for Humanoid Robot Control from the University of South Wales and a 5-year Diploma in Electronic & Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Crete.
