Jan Lenaerts

Jan Lenaerts is an expert climate team leader and senior scientist currently serving as the Lead Developer of Physical Risk Solutions at ING. They previously held various roles, including a post-doctoral researcher and assistant professor at Utrecht University, where they led projects on polar meteorology and managed research teams. With experience in academia, consulting at McKinsey & Company, and a strong publishing record, Jan thrives in collaborative, results-driven environments. They earned a cum laude PhD in Polar Meteorology from Utrecht University, following a Master’s in Meteorology & Air Quality and a Bachelor’s in Soil, Water & Atmosphere from Wageningen University & Research.
