Maarten Koning

Maarten Koning is an experienced finance professional with a focus on trade and commodity finance, currently serving as Managing Director and Global Head of Trade and Commodity Finance at ING since April 2013. Throughout a distinguished career at ING, Maarten has held multiple leadership roles, including Managing Director for Structured Metals & Energy Finance and Managing Director & Deputy Head of the Commodities Group in Geneva, as well as Managing Director & Head of the Commodities Group in North Asia. Prior to this, Maarten led the Global Lead Structured Commodities Finance division and was involved in the Commodities, Food & Agri sectors in the Netherlands. Maarten's career began in 2002 with positions in Singapore and Hong Kong. Maarten holds an MSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Twente and completed secondary education at St Vitus College.
