Maija Ziemele

Maija Ziemele is a Sustainability Consultant specializing in Human Rights at ING since January 2022, with responsibilities that include disclosures and report writing, human rights issue assessments, and aligning internal processes with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Prior experience includes roles at the Embassy of Latvia in the Netherlands, where Maija improved the communications strategy and represented the embassy at various events. As Vice President of Students Tilburg Amnesty International, Maija organized events to raise awareness about human rights issues. Maija co-founded Wild Beard, an award-winning startup, and holds a Master of Science in Global Business and Sustainability from Erasmus University Rotterdam, along with degrees from the University of Amsterdam and Tilburg University in law and business administration.
