Mark Van Laar

Mark Van Laar is currently the Chapter Lead for the ICLAAP team Model Validation at ING, a position held since 2024. Previously, Mark served as a Senior Model Validator for IRRBB and a Senior Financial Risk Officer/Product Owner for the IRRBB Change Team, focusing on balance sheet risk management and stress testing. Mark's extensive career in finance began with roles as a Market Risk Analyst at ING Group NV and PGGM Investments, and included a significant tenure as Head of the Economic and Regulatory Capital team at ING Nederland. Mark earned a CFA designation from the CFA Institute and holds a degree in Corporate Finance from Tilburg University.
