Samraat Basu

Samraat Basu currently serves as the Data Privacy, Cookie, and Consent Manager at ING, where responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of customer consent for data use and conducting GDPR compatibility tests. Prior experience includes a role as a Subject Matter Expert in Data Privacy at bol.com, advising on GDPR-compliant consent mechanisms, and a position as a Lecturer in Law & Technology at Tilburg University, where Samraat taught various courses and supervised graduate theses. Additionally, Samraat worked as an Associate at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, providing legal counsel on data handling policies and technology law issues, and contributed to the drafting of the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2018 at the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy. Educational qualifications include an Advanced LL.M. in Law and Digital Technologies from Leiden University and a BA LLB (Hons.) from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law.
