Tom Degen

Tom Degen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector, currently serving as Commercial Director of Mortgages at ING since September 2013. In this role, Tom leads a sales organization of 250 FTEs, focusing on driving commercial performance and enhancing customer experience. Previous positions include Head of Business Development, where Tom successfully restructured staff departments and transformed the branch network, significantly reducing costs. Tom has also acted as a trusted advisor to the CEO of ING Netherlands and pioneered innovations in consumer lending. In addition to current responsibilities at ING, Tom is a board member at SEH Stichting Erkend Hypotheekadviseur and has held academic roles at Leiden University. Tom holds multiple degrees in Public Administration and Business Administration from Leiden University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
