Wouter Schmitz

Wouter Schmitz is the Chief Architect for Payments & Settlement Services at ING, leading the architecture team in innovative financial solutions. With 19 years of experience in managing architecture teams, Wouter has previously served as Head of Architecture at Atradius, where they improved engagement across digital transformation programs and developed a comprehensive cloud strategy. Wouter also created an architecture chapter at Novamedia that became a top-performing team and won the NAF architecture award in 2018. Their educational background includes a Master's in Natural Computer Science from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and an MBA from the University of Twente.
