Bashir Patel

Bashir Patel has extensive experience in policy and regulatory affairs across multiple regions, currently serving as Senior Regional Advisor at Inmarsat since February 2013, with responsibilities that include policy lobbying in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to this role, Bashir held the position of Chief Operating Officer at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation from July 2007 to January 2013, and served as Regional Business Development Advisor at Siwa Ltd from July 2004 to June 2006. Bashir's earlier career includes a significant tenure at ICO Global Communications as Regional General Manager for CAMEA and CEO of ICO-Turkey, as well as various roles at Inmarsat from 1985 to 1998, including Business Development Director. Bashir's career began at British Aerospace as a Commercial Officer. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Finance and Marketing from The University of Salford, a Higher National Certificate in Aeronautics & Avionics from Preston College, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The University of Salford.
