James Wu has a diverse work experience in user experience and design roles. James started their career as a researcher at Software Technology Lab in 2000 and later worked as an interaction design consultant at Namzak Labs in 2004. From 2005 to 2006, James served as a usability strategist at Blast Radius, working with clients such as AOL, BMW, and United Airlines. James then moved to Platform Computing, where they worked as a senior user experience architect from 2006 to 2008, introducing user-centered design techniques and improving usability. In 2008, they became the head of user experience at Rypple, where they defined the vision and direction of the overall user experience design. James joined Kobo Inc. in 2010, first as a senior UX architect and later as a director and senior director of various design teams focused on eReaders, tablets, and devices. Their work at Kobo resulted in several patents and awards. Finally, in 2014, James founded InnerSpace Technology Inc. and served as the CEO and founder, providing spatial intelligence solutions to large enterprises.
James Wu has a strong education background in computer science and human computer interaction. James pursued their Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction from Queen's University from 2000 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from McGill University from 1997 to 1999. Their undergraduate studies were also focused on computing and information science, as they earned a BSc.H. degree from Queen's University from 1992 to 1997.
