Michael Förster has a strong work history in the engineering and service sectors. Michael started their career at Knorr-Bremse as a Manager of Product Management COC Brake-Control. Michael then moved on to MAN Diesel & Turbo, where they served as the Head of Product Management Medium Speed and later became the Vice President of Engineering Power Plants. Förster then joined GE Power & Water / GE Jenbacher as an Area Manager of Engineering, focusing on plant and systems. Michael continued to excel in GE Power & Water, where they were promoted to Leader of Service Engineering. Förster then joined GE Power as an Executive in Fulfillment and Service Engineering for GE Distributed Power. Currently, they work at INNIO Group as the Chief Quality Officer.

Michael Förster earned their Dr.-Ing. degree from the Technical University of Munich, specializing in the Chair of Product Development, from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2000, they obtained a Dipl.-Ing. (TU) degree from the same university, focusing on Konstruktion und Entwicklung / Product development and design. In 1998 to 2000, they also attended the Bayerische Elite-Akademie, although no degree or field of study is specified. In 2012, they obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from GE.
