Clark Bird, PhD, MBA has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of research. Clark is currently working as a Principal Investigator in Neuroscience at Inotiv since November 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Research Scientist II and Associate Scientist 2 at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, starting in 2016 and ending in November 2021. In these roles, they independently designed and executed research experiments, collaborated with principal investigators and faculty members on research projects, and published several first-author peer-reviewed journal manuscripts. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of New Mexico, where they advised and supervised graduate students and brought expertise in RNA biology and gene expression analysis. Additionally, they gained experience as a Graduate Student/Research Assistant at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center from 2007 to 2012, performing independent research and developing skills in public speaking and scientific writing. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Manager at Boulder Creek Market from 2002 to 2006. Overall, Dr. Bird has a strong background in research, with expertise in neuroscience, molecular biology, and gene expression analysis.
Dr. Clark Bird has a diverse education history. Clark first completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and Psychology at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2001 to 2005. Clark then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Neurosciences at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine from 2007 to 2012. Most recently, from 2018 to 2021, Dr. Bird obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of New Mexico.
