Douglas Heller

Douglas Heller is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the energy, infrastructure, and mining sectors. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at INPEX Corporation since April 2020, Douglas previously held various roles at Herbert Smith Freehills, including Senior Associate and Trainee Solicitor, where work included general corporate M&A and intellectual property. As a secondee in the Tokyo office, Douglas contributed to oil & gas, LNG, and mining transactions across central and south-east Asia and Africa. Douglas also has prior experience as a legal counsel at INPEX Corporation and Hess Corporation, enhancing expertise in the oil & gas industry. Earlier in career, Douglas served as an Assistant Language Teacher with the JET Programme and holds a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, along with legal education from BPP Law School and Oxford Brookes University.
