William Abecassis

William Abecassis is a seasoned investor and executive with extensive experience in innovative finance and technology sectors. Currently serving as Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at BRAVEN since April 2022, Abecassis focuses on early-stage investments across financial services, insurance, and healthcare. Additionally, Abecassis co-founded and chairs Inprobable, a company dedicated to enhancing business risk management. Prior to these roles, Abecassis held various positions at BlackRock from 2012 to April 2022, notably as Head of Innovation Capital, overseeing equity and debt investments in growth companies. Abecassis has also invested in multiple startups, including Verge Genomics, Noodle, and PsiQuantum. Academic accomplishments include a B.S. in Math and Physiology from McGill University and a Graduate Degree in Computer Science from Concordia University.
