Manuel Chakravarty is a Lambda Scientist with expertise in research and development in functional programming, programming languages, compilers, and cryptography. They have held positions as an Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, and Lecturer at the University of New South Wales from 2009 to 2017, focusing on teaching and research in related fields. Prior to that, they worked as a Lecturer at the University of Tsukuba from 1997 to 1999, and contributed as a Researcher and Architect at Input Output (IOHK) and a Functional Programming Specialist at Tweag I/O since 2017. Manuel co-founded Applicative in 2014, where they develop tools for high-performance cloud computing and educational purposes and is the principal developer of Haskell for Mac. They are currently pursuing a Dr. rer. nat. in Informatics at Technische Universität Berlin while also studying for a Dipl.-Inform. at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
