Elham Karimi has a diverse academic and research background in marine biology and ecology. Beginning as a Teaching Assistant at Shahid Beheshti University in 2010, Elham transitioned to a Research Assistant role at the University of Tehran from November 2010 to July 2013. Following this, Elham was a PhD student at the Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) from September 2013 to December 2015 and subsequently served as a PhD candidate at Universidade do Algarve until 2018. Elham's postdoctoral research took place at the Station Biologique de Roscoff from October 2018 to December 2021. Currently, Elham holds the position of Research Scientist at INRAE, starting in January 2023. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology and a Master's degree in Marine Zoology from Shahid Beheshti University, a PhD internship in Marine Microbiology from GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Microbial Ecology from Universidade do Algarve.
