Pierre-Benoit Joly is an economist and sociologist, currently serving as the President of the INRAE Toulouse Center. They have been a Directeur de recherche at INRA since 1995 and previously held leadership roles at the French Institute for Studies of Research and Innovation in Society and the LISIS interdisciplinary lab. Holding a degree in agronomy, a PhD in economics, and the "Habilitation à diriger les recherches," Pierre-Benoit has focused their research on governance of collective risks and public participation in scientific activities, contributing over one hundred articles and five books to the field. They are also a member of several prestigious academic and scientific councils in France and Europe.
