Thomas Candela is currently the directeur de recherche at INRAE, a position held since 2025. They served as an assistant professor at Faculté de Pharmacie - Université Paris-Saclay from 2009 to 2025. Thomas completed a PhD in Microbiology at Université Denis Diderot (Paris VII) in 2005 and later pursued an HDR degree at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI), which they are currently completing. Their prior roles include postdoctoral research at INRA from 2006 to 2008 and a researcher associate position at Newcastle University from 2008 to 2009.
