Lukáš Picek

Lukáš Picek is a postdoctoral researcher at Inria since November 2023, specializing in deep species distribution modeling to predict plant species using various environmental predictors. As a principal investigator and doctoral researcher at the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, since January 2017, Lukáš is engaged in diverse research projects, including hockey player detection, logo detection, drone detection, and fine-grained image categorization. Additionally, Lukáš founded PiVa AI in January 2020 and collaborates with the Danish Mycological Society on mushroom identification projects. Previous roles include serving as Chief Technology Officer at Blue Dynamic, leading R&D, and as Senior Researcher at CertiCon a.s., where responsibilities included designing algorithms for computer vision and video analysis. Lukáš has a PhD in Computer Vision from the University of West Bohemia and holds an Engineer's degree in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor's degree in Cybernetics and Control Engineering.
