Thomas Watteyne is a seasoned networking design engineer and researcher with extensive experience in the field of low-power wireless networks and the Internet of Things (IoT). Currently serving as a Senior Networking Design Engineer at Analog Devices since March 2017, Thomas is a key member of the Advanced Architecture & Technology Group and leads the development of the SmartMesh IP product ecosystem. Additionally, Thomas has been a Senior Research Scientist and Research Director at Inria since January 2015, focusing on Agile Networking and the Smart Dust project. Prior roles include positions at Linear Technology, Dust Networks, and UC Berkeley, along with substantial contributions to the IETF as co-chair of the 6TiSCH Working Group. Thomas holds a PhD in Computer Science from INSA Lyon and has completed postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley.
